Mimics subterranean creatures that cannot stand sunlight. They are able to perfectly imitate stone, wood and metal.
A mime has a higher intelligence than an average human and limited resistance to magic, and "can change its color and shape to mimic a large number of textures, colors, and shapes at once... creating entire rooms of furniture, treasures and tapestries." A mime can block off a hallway and alter its shape to become a room with doorways on either side so that its prey walks directly into it. a mimic will also use enticements such as treasure or simulated furniture to lure prey and will wait until an entire group has entered before attacking. the mimic will then release its natural adhesive onto all of its surfaces and attack by slamming the walls of its structure against each other. Greater mimics can develop the ability to display illusory creatures within themselves, pretending to speak through those creatures' mouths.
All illusions created by our mimics are a trunk of surprises for you.
